Erika Houle, Director, Cinematography

Erika Houle is a freelance cinematographer and assistant camera based in New York City. Since graduating college she has pursued a career in documentary which has sent her across the world to Haiti and India. Her recent collaboration with director, Patricia Gillespie, on the short documentary Able won first place at NYU's First Run Film Festival as well as the Nestor Almendros Award for Excellence in Cinematography. Erika is currently in production with Patricia on a feature documentary.
Emily Moreano, Producer

First time producer Emily has long been entrenched in the entertainment landscape focusing on marketing efforts of independent films, building visual identities, websites, posters, press materials and more. Across All Borders marks her first foray in the world of film production and management.

Keir Moreano, Director, Producer

A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School for the Performing Arts, Keir has produced a number of feature length films, incluidng The New York Times-acclaimed As The Call, So The Echo (2005), Unspooled (2008), and The Meaning of Tea (2008), which cover subjects as diverse as the hair-raising trials of a Vietnamese operating room to the tragic story of a young man who intentionally burns his father’s house down in the name of art. His wide range of work, which also includes a number of short films and commercial projects, has been broadcast on PBS, Sky Channel U.K., Virgin U.K., and Netflix. Additionally, Keir is one of the producers behind the Emmy-nominated main title sequence for the HBO hit show True Blood, and most recently has been a strategic marketing lead for Microsoft’s Halo 4 advertising campaign.
He currently lives with his wife, Emily and daughter in the San Francisco Bay area.

Dan Oberle, Editor

Dan has been editing commercials and short form documentaries for over 12 years. The work is largely focused on editing for advertising campaigns, both domestic and international. His work has been recognized by The Cannes Advertising Festival, The Emmys, The One Show, and The Effies. Most recently, Dan won the 2012 Silver Hugo Award for Editing for Visa’s NFL commercial “Ned’s Journey”. In addition to his commercial work, Dan has edited numerous documentary shorts, and continues to develop his creative reach with forays into directing and design. He is especially passionate about documentary projects that illuminate social welfare or scientific issues. He is currently a staff editor at Whitehouse Post.
Dave Gross, Audio Mixer, Sound Designer (Helldog Music)

Helldog Music owner Dave Gross started his career in Florida as a keyboardist, composing and producing music for TV/Radio commercials as well as Production Library music for clients as diverse as Microsoft, Step Reebok Aerobics, Boeing, the NBA on TNT, Fox Promotions, CNN International, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and Nordstrom. For the past 12 years, Dave has continued writing for Production libraries such as 5Alarm,SoundRangers.com and MyMusicSource.com. Dave also works for Microsoft’sin-house production facility, as an Audio Post Production mix engineer, sound designer and composer. Dave provides an extensive variety of audio production, composition, and sound design services to the advertising, audio/video production, and multi-media industries.
Joel Douek, Composer

Joel Douek is an award winning composer and instrumentalist, whose music has appeared in hundreds of TV episodes, major documentary specials, as well as numerous films and national commercials. Specializing in orchestral drama, he also brings a fascination with world music and electronica into many of his scores. Joel recently won an award for Best Music for Feature Documentary at the 2012 Park City Film Music Festival, for the BAFTA winning film "Flying Monsters 3D with David Attenborough".
This is his third collaboration with Necessary Nomad films.
